The course is designed to help medical professionals address the balance between providing optimal pain relief and preventing inappropriate use of opioid analgesics, including avoiding adverse outcomes for their patients, for the community and for themselves.
This course has been approved for a maximum of 8.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) and is designed for all clinicians practicing in primary care settings — physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants and others — who prescribe opioid medications and who care for patients receiving opioid medications.
